Opportunities
Upon completion of the Medical Billing program, students can obtain an entry-level position as a Medical Biller at Medical Offices, Clinics, and Insurance Companies.
Course Design
The objective of the Medical Billing & Coding Program is to provide training in which students can acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competency in medical billing & coding procedures. Skills and competencies include but are not limited to: ICD-9-CM Coding, CPT/HCPCS Coding, health care reimbursement issues and claims processing. Graduates are eligible to write certificate examinations offered by the American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
This multi-dimensional program is intended for the student who seeks an entry level position as a Medical Insurance Biller. Classrooms are equipped with personal computers and code books that offer software and instructions used in medical billing.

Upon successful completion of all certificate program course requirements, including the externship, graduates will be able to pass the National Certification Exam and become a Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. They will be considered entry-level coders and will be eligible for entry-level coding and billing positions in a variety of health care facilities. |
